Animal Sprit and the Corporate Office
Let me explain my vision.
Animal Spirit and the Corporate Office was a release of anger from the insanity that was created within my corporate headquarters in the summer of 2010. New directors, constant changes through our state government in the education system, and the construction remodeling mess in our campus, along with new corporate programs to promote green companies was a nightmare and all were imposed at the same time. Nature has a way of survival.
I tried capturing the flowing lines of nature and design that seem to flow from one form to another. These lines are repeated over and over in nature. When I am drawing for preparation on an idea I start with the research. Noah’s ark showed itself in a dream and then I played with the positive and negatives of animal power along with the spirit of the animal characters. I related them to the humans I love and hence the animal totem and the dynamics of my family. The bear, tiger, dragon and mountain lion are keys to my thinking. Grace and evil, beauty and destruction are opposites but the cause of how things are.
My characters have individual personality traits which coincided with my perspective of the corporate environment. Wild and frightening, I’ll never understand how these corporations can consider numbers to be of such importance when the heart and soul are being devaluated. I don’t want to burn bridges for I am grateful to be working here in San Diego with amazing staff and friends, fellow employers that I truly care about. But I do have other roads to follow.
When I am drawing for preparation on an idea I start with the research. Noah’s ark showed itself in a dream and then I played with the positive and negatives of animal power along with the spirit of the animal characters. My discovery of natures designs while drawing and painting over the years have shown to flow and I flow in the moment from one form to another. I used these lines to create a visual illusion of plants, animals and humans along with mystical energies such as the firebird.
If you would like to know where all the animals are hidden I will give you some hints. LOOK FOR THE WHITE DOTS TO FIND THE EYES OF THE LIFE within this painting. The goddess crying out for release and to be in spirit. The demon with a forked tongue on the far right. The bear on the left as a frontal face. If you look just below the center of the eye to find a animal skull. Below the bears eye is the elephant head with trunk up for luck (in my opinion that elephant is the greatest of all animal energies). The mountain lion (the natural enemy of the bear and the salmon his favorite food). Turtle, alligator and the mermaid are in the water to the left. These are incorporated for the energy they possess. Above the bears eye is octopus, dear, eagle, black swan and skunk all in a crazy mix of the flowing lines I discovered. Directly in the center is the Firebird or Phoenix and because God has a sense of humor the bee on the noses. Inside the tigers eye is a memory of one of the first paintings I did as a child. I call “The whale after the storm”, along with the hawk. Below tigers eye you will find the fox, otter, hamster, duck, dragon, and others . Rabbit in the bottom right hand corner signifies how I felt looking at this mix of insanity called life. She is one my personal totems along with the mountain lion, hummingbird, buffalo and lizard. You can find her in the bottom right hand corner.
I have had an amazing adventure with these kindred spirits and wanted to incorporate them into Animal Spirit and the Corporate Office.

My Joy
As a young lady this is what I was feeling and those things that gave me joy.

We all carry baggage at any age and it all comes from our experiences and perspectives of those memories. The little girl needed to come out and I desired to find my joy.
It came with talking to the animals, bugs and reptiles. Climbing in the citrus groves while growing up in the suburbs and watching the Arizona desert grow leaps and bounds was a interesting time. I loved the water after all is was a saving grace in the heat.
After my marriage to Henry in 1974 I became a mother of 2 boys, WSI instructor, Fine Arts teacher and business woman. Today I will create and be in grace.
Animal Spirit in the Corporate Office /2010. Working at ITT was changing and not for the better. Our new director actually took an award winning team of administrators, career service specialist, financial aid developers and representative and turned it into mush. Horrible! I should have stepped out 2 years ago but we were in the worst recession in years. I needed to keep on tract with my painting, never giving up.
This painting reflects the dark side of the mind and works with intense negativity. My prayers are for the future represented by the Phoenix in flight. Crazy? I don’t think so at least not yet.
During this time I was completely aware of how my body was deteriorating. Computers, time lines, aggressiveness to enroll a given number of students no matter what the situation or how ridiculous it became, and the people hired on that could never replace what they just lost.
Our new director had it made it clear that we were to follow the Blue Angle handbook called ”Flawless Execution”. He even had a training session in a mock military course. Ridiculous but true. YESSSSS SIR! It just got worse until everyone was feeling restless and looking to find a better job.

Shadow

I was fed up with the western medical system. Watching my husbands struggle, my son’s illness and I have a thyroid problem that is difficult when it comes to finding naturopathic solutions.
I turned to medicinal cannabis looking for solutions other than Western medical and prescription drugs. I believe it’s not the only solution but it certainly helped after a day of what seemed bondage to the devil. Working late evenings and Saturdays, it defiantly was a helping with my strength and healing.
I have studied naturopathic medicine and found it to be very useful although I have to believe doctors are needed for certain things. “Shadow” is a reflection of the aggressive nature of the medical and pharmaceutical world as they are on the attack; if you stay in the system they are going to kill you.
“Shadow” took me back to my studies of wild cats large and small. I studied and painted till I couldn’t draw another animal.
Mountain cougars, Lions, Tigers, Bobcats and Cheetahs along with Leopards were fun paintings to do. The Black Panther is my favorite and shows its dark side.

A great chief, his story so heart retching, but his spirit showed me who I am. He needed to be seen in my creations. His message is of strength and courage. Be the spiritual warrior, never giving up or fear any obstacles. He has shown himself in dreams and visions. I have always been in tuned with the ways of the ancient ones. When I first saw his picture I felt I had seen a ghost. My painting was revealed to a greater understanding of what I had created.
Sometimes l can’t believe what I am guided to paint.

Back to my study in the Bible and asking what are the angles? How are they detected in the Bible?
I found this an interesting study and Archangel Gabriel was in control or I believe it was his energy. He is a messenger and of good works. He carries his horn and asked us to be patient. It’s all in God time not ours.
During this time it was predicted that on May 21st 2011 (my exact BD) would be the beginning of the rapture. I had lost my husband at 50 and now the world was ending at 60? My last thoughts were of tropical beaches and blue waters I never was able to experience. Instead my dear friend Paul took me to Catalina where I had a great time. It helped ease my longing for the water and the abundance of nature encouraged me to just keep going.
The waves of light are an attempt to reveal the feeling of energy that surrounds oneself when in a higher energy field. The animals are representation of bible characters and have defined energy.

Desert Dream

This picture was finished in September, 2011 close to my being fired from ITT Technical institute. I should have left my position a year earlier after the new director came in with a pile of corporate changes. Our wonderful team of representatives was trashed, the senior staff was being let go in favor of telemarketing representatives …… No one was happy and the joy was gone. I was not allowed to express myself other than making the numbers. So much for creativity. I felt the magnification of negativity and it was physically killing me. So since I was not willing to do it for myself (ever knowing God has always taken care of me) I was released from my bondage without notice after 5 years and getting my sons through their ITBS degrees. One of my more outstanding achievements and goals accomplished.
I have been fortunate to live in San Diego now since 2004. I will be transitioning into new directions and I have been given the time to perfect my painting and heal my body. Like the desert I grew up in there is endless life with all the odds against survival but we do. Where will it lead me? I am looking forward to new directions as anything can happen.
I am looking for marketing options to expose my paintings and their meanings. This is my passion and calling to do so guided through divine spirit. I have been creating the self sustaining community ideas for a very long time and now at the age of 60 I see ways of making it happen.
My beloved Henry wasn’t with me physically when I watched my sons graduate but always in spirit and now he will be an inspiration to start the community which he loved but never able to achieve in his short lifetime. Transitioning once again I thank God for my life, abundance and strength.

Story Teller

The story is of Mother Nature represented by the full face beauty. “The Story Teller” is represented by the crone or grandmother. Her message is knowledge, wisdom and guidance. Day and night this human body is not an easy pathway to grace but if done with spirit it’s an amazing journey. I feel the greatest gift is called Motherhood.
I am discussed with people’s thoughts. I think I have seen it all through my work and community. I know that we are all in the same boat and most of us want to work and be proactive. It’s so much easier to be a savage than to walk in grace for the greater of all… something I fully believe we must achieve. Our children need mentoring they need to know the higher levels of spirit. Their gifts of attunement are real and it’s sinful to drug them as we do to keep them in the box so to speak.
You will see the first teddy bear given to my son named Bilbert. He is listening to the story teller and used as a pillow for the child dreaming to the left. Life and death patterns of nature and events are portrayed in this painting.

SAASY - Sue Ann Alton Sanders
Good to see you again!
My name is Sue Ann Alton Sanders. I started out painting with the signature Alton the young artist growing up in the Arizona desert. I love the outdoors and learned to appreciate all forms of life. I became a wildlife artist.
As I came out of the "Art Center" my illustrations, paintings and designs were signed Alton. I married my husband Henry Sanders and the signature became SAS (Sue Ann Sanders). I started developing into more abstraction and used a variety of pigments.
I realized that the Alton needed to be seen and now becoming one again becomes SAASY. Today you can call me SAASY. Why did I add the Y? Because it fits me! I am SAASY.
Today if you take a close look at my newest gallery selections which I call Symbolic Abstraction you will find many symbols used in the universal spirit.
By bringing this image of your choice into your home or work place you will eventually be connected with the message recreated from a higher power. I spend weeks with each canvas to be able to interpret this from my heart to yours with brush in hand. Women and men of all ages will see different images depending on their experience.
